Volunteer Spotlight

development • June 25, 2021

CAWA would like to celebrate the amazing contribution that our passionate volunteers make to our sport. We will be spotlighting a "Volunteer of the Month" every month to an outstanding and deserving volunteer.

Our first 'Volunteer of the Month" is Glenys Stade

Glenys has be volunteering as the "Front of House Manager" for 6 years and in other roles for 28 years!

Glenys was a Cali girl who wanted to remain involved in the sport after retiring from competing, so she began volunteering as she wanted to give back to the sport which had given so much to her.

Do you get any benefit from volunteering?

"There is a real pleasure in staying involved and spending time with others who share the love of the sport."

Is there a part of volunteering that you really enjoy?

"Catching up with the people I have got to know over the years."

What do you love doing/what are you passionate about?

"I am an organised person and I am glad that my skills can be put to good use in helping to run a competition. There is a real sense of joy when everything runs smoothly and you know you have had a part in that success."

Thank you Glenys for your ongoing efforts for our sport.

If you would like to nominate a worthy volunteer please email development@calisthenicswa.com.au with their name and contact details.
